The Texas Association of Chicanos in Higher Education is a professional association committed to the improvement of educational and employment opportunities for Chicanos in higher education.

Welcome from the Conference Chair and President-Elect

Dear TACHE friends,

I would like to personally invite you to Houston, TX and the 45th Annual Texas Association of Chicanos in Higher Education (TACHE) Conference. This year, our theme is “Winning con Educación: Tradición, Cultura y Comunidad”. Now more than ever, Latinos are faced with great challenges in achieving higher education and employment opportunities. Our goal is to remain focused, continue to grow, and transform our society to ensure the success of our students.

As TACHE continues to grow, it is important that we work and bring inspired people together to ensure our organization remains at the frontline of transformation. Over four decades, we have done tremendous work to support Chicanos in higher education. Despite all of the obstacles, we are proud of the work that we have accomplished and are excited about our future in higher education.
The conference committee is designing one of the most innovative, engaging, and intentional conferences. I invite those of you who have never attended to consider joining us in Houston for a four-day conference as we explore academic research, professional and student development, and comradery via keynote speakers, breakout sessions, networking and engagement. This year, we’re launching a networking dinner, leadership certificate program, and undergraduate and graduate academic poster presentations.

While at the conference, I encourage you to fully engage, meet new people, and inspire new visions as we work toward shaping the future. We are stronger together, and we cannot accomplish our mission without your support and leadership.

I look forward to meeting each of you at the conference hotel in February.

Conference Dates: 2/19/20 – 2/22/20
